Since moving to Birmingham in 2019, I’ve had the chance to explore so many beautiful places around the city with my camera in hand. From historic architecture to beautiful gardens, Birmingham is full of locations that make my photographer heart so happy.
Whether I’m photographing a family, an engagement, a small business owner or even a pup – these spots have become my go-to locations for natural light, variety, and just the right amount of magic.
Here are 10 of my favorite Birmingham photo spots (in no particular order!):

Birmingham Botanical Gardens – Beautiful in every season with a variety of natural backdrops.

The Conservatory at the Gardens – A rainy day lifesaver with soft, dreamy light.
Avondale Park – My favorite when pups are involved – don’t miss the amphitheater behind the pond.

Sibyl Temple – Elegant and timeless with those iconic white columns.
Avenue D Events – That courtyard + a peek at Sloss Furnace? So good.

LUMI – A light-filled indoor option that’s perfect for headshots and branding sessions.

Downtown Birmingham – From Morris Avenue’s cobblestones to the pedestrian bridge with skyline views, it offers tons of variety.

Workshop Local – Clean, bright, and perfect for small business sessions or team photos.

The Shoppe BHM – A charming garden center and greenhouse that makes the cutest backdrop.
Windwood Equestrian – Rolling hills, horses, and Southern charm—a dream for weddings and styled shoots.

I just shared a reel highlighting all of these spots – click here to check it out and save it for your next session idea!
